Anatomy for Artists Workshop
Saturday January 15 10:00am - 1:00pm
- 75 US dollars$75
- Lucerne Way
In this 3-hour workshop, we will investigate the form and structures of the human body and the depiction of descriptive anatomy in figure-drawing. We will take a simplified and artistic approach at understanding how the underlying anatomy creates “masses” and visible surface “landmarks” critical in accurately expressing the human figure. Through observation, we’ll analyze how the shapes and relationships of the major skeletal structures (the spine, pelvis, shoulders, skull and limbs) define the pose and the form. You will learn to interpret and represent the motion and directionality of anatomical structures and how to keep your drawings fluid and expressive. Workshops include one hour of instruction plus two hours of instruction while drawing from a live model. All Drawing Room workshops and classes are held indoors and social-distancing protocols are strictly enforced. Artists are required to wear masks at all times and class size is limited to 4 artists and 1 model. Due to limited space availability, artists must pre-register for all sessions and drop-ins cannot be accommodated. A minimum of 2 artist participants is required for this workshop to be held.
To cancel or reschedule please contact us as soon as possible. Cancellations will not be accepted within 48 hours of class.
