Workshop Description

*This class meets weekly the class dates are: TBD ** This class will include NON-nude live models Students and aspiring young artists, this class is designed to help you expand your drawing and seeing skills while building a solid foundation in understanding the figure and anatomy. This class is designed for aspiring art school students or for any teen interested in expanding their portfolio while building a solid drawing foundation and gaining new confidence in the studio. In this class, we’ll begin with the basics including what to expect in a life drawing class and where to begin when drawing the human form. We will be drawing live NON-nude models each week. In addition to introducing the studio, figure drawing etiquette and drawing supplies, this class will build your skills in capturing gesture, creating dynamic lines and drawings, understanding anatomy and proportions, and drawing what you actually see. Students will learn how to give and receive constructive feedback during weekly group crits. Additionally, portfolio reviews and guidance will be offered to all students interested in building a successful and strong collection of work (especially useful for high school AP art students). This 4-session class is geared to the high school art student but open to student artists of any skill level. Your class fee includes: ● Four (4) weekly classes (11 hours of instruction, including 8 hours with a live model); ● Small class size: maximum 4 artists per session; ● Art supply starter kit ($25 value) includes: (1) 18"x24" 100-sheet Newsprint pad, (3) compressed charcoal sticks, (1) 3-pack vine charcoal, (1) stick white charcoal, (1) peel & sketch charcoal pencil, (1) kneaded eraser, (1) paper stump for blending All Drawing Room classes are held indoors and social-distancing protocols are strictly enforced.
