As an artist attending a drawing session or class at The Drawing Room, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

  1. Safety. Face masks are to be worn at all times while attending any Drawing Room Session or class. Models may not wear a face mask but will remain no less than six feet from any Drawing Room participant. I also agree to stay no less than six feet away from any unmasked model at all times. I also understand that hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes will be available for my use at all times during all classes and sessions.

  2. Etiquette. Figure Drawing, nude or clothed, is a long-established and widely-followed art discipline which is practiced around the world. As it can be a vulnerable environment for any model, and is intended for the benefit of the artists, it is of utmost importance and it is expected and understood that all Drawing Room participants will acknowledge and agree to the following code of etiquette.

I understand that I will be attending classes or sessions where a fully nude model will be present. I agree to never touch a model for any reason. I agree to never photograph, or even ask to photograph a model and I understand that even the request can make a model feel uncomfortable. I also understand that conversation with any model will be strictly limited to speaking only when spoken to. This applies to before or after the modeling session as well as during break times. I understand and agree that if a model is comfortable, they may approach me about my work, but I will never seek out or encourage this type of interaction. If I have a question, I agree to see the session instructor/facilitator. I understand that the model is a professional and will, at all times, be treated with the appropriate respect of any business environment. As such, I agree to never make comments about a model’s body, invade a model’s personal space, ask a model personal questions such as where they live, ask a model on a date or any other such inappropriate behavior.

  3. Tipping of Models. I understand that tipping of an art-model, although totally optional, is customary as one would tip a restaurant server for a job well-done.

  4. Decorum. The figure-drawing environment is a quiet and peaceful space designed to allow concentration for both artists and models. I therefore agree to maintaining silence at all times while a model is posing and artists are working. Cell phones will be turned off, or left outside of the studio, to ensure a quiet environment for everyone.
